Hello, and welcome to your new and exciting role as an emergency call responder. While working with us for the next seven days you'll receive calls from countless members of our community all looking for your help. To support you in this new role your partner will be using our newly made emergency guide book, which is tailor-made to ensure you are giving the best advice and support possible. We hope you enjoy working with us.

---------------------------------------------------------

In order to play On the Line you must download the companion PDF which is available here and as a PDF from the link below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qFLsclBPjtFeR3K_5_2Ryl6L3SG8T-FT/view

Player two will be using the PDF to work out the correct emergency advice for player one to give the caller. Without using the PDF the game will be unplayable

What is On the Line?

On the Line is a game about exploring the stresses and hardships put on emergency service workers everyday. We also hope that it will educate it's players on the lives of this vital but often forgotten aspect of the emergency services. We aimed for the guide book to be as accurate as we could make it, in order to provide the player with valuable advice for emergency situations. However, please be aware the advice giving in our game is not substitute for actual emergency advice.

On the Line was created by Red Bear Games, a group of friends, over the course of three months during the summer. The project was supported by Octopus 8 Studios.

  • Designers: Ethan Bartley, Zander Vermaas
  • Programmer: Vejas Tarabilda

The game is really cute. This must be the first computer game I ever paid money for.

How is it going, will you continue development?

Have you thought about releasing this for macOS?

Hey, Lead programmer of On The Line here.

Yes, we are planning to release it on macOS down the line of the game's development, however, right now it's Windows only.

Hey! Loved the game, had lots of fun with it! ๐Ÿ˜Š the way the game plays is enjoyable! Just need consequences at the end because you can go without buying food, rent etc as well as not getting paid haha! Great game idea ๐Ÿ˜„

Hey, Lead programmer of On The Line here.

Thank you for playing our game, and we appreciate that you both took the time to make a video about it.

And yes we are aware of the issues that you discussed, and we are planning to fix them to create the best game that we can.

DEVELOPER UPDATE v4.12
Hey everyone, Lead programmer of On The Line here.

To start we would like to thank everyone for their helpful feedback on our game, without your interest and supportive comments we wouldn't be able to continue this project.

In this new patch we:
- Fixed the major bug which caused profiles not to save and load. (Note. If the profiles are not being created properly: Delete the On The Line folder and re-install to a location on your computer which does not require admin privileges to save to, for example, the Desktop.)
- Capped the maximum amount of profiles to 28.
- Added the end screen.
- General bug fixes.
- Added READ ME.TXT with more general information.

On behalf of Red Bear Games,

Vejas Tarabilda.

Hey, the game looks great however its the same problem as comment below. When the game loads, you cannot start the shift which is unfortunate. Additionally, after signing up and closing the game then opening again, when I click log in, the menu text appears but nothing else happens.

Once i'm on the computer screen, it allows me to open voyager and dispatcher, however it doesn't allow me to start shift or anything else. I was wondering when these will work so the game is playable as i am really excited to play it =)
